favorite things {friday}

hola mis amigos hermosos. 

this morning, I woke up thinking of all my favorite things and wanted to share a few with you.

it is truly the best time of the year.

have I ever shared with you

my love for little old

grandmas, and grandpas??? 

its more then a love.

it’s a passion.

have you ever done something and you know its your calling in life?  that was me when I got my certified.nurses.aid.certification in two.thousand.eight.  I worked in two different nursing homes all the way up until I moved across the fence.  I loved every blessed second of it.  yes it came with its challenges but it is totally worth it.

yesterday morning my favorite {durango} grandma came to visit our little school house, under the tree.  I immediately said hello and invited her to sit down.  I asked her if she wanted me to put her to work with some math problems.  she laughed and said that she would if she could see.

that started a ten minute conversation about i'm not sure what.  my spanish isn't all the way up to par, specially my grandma spanish {there's a difference}, but the conversation was something about, God's mercy's that she walks without falling, her dad, a ranch, her fifteen plus siblings...  yes!

i found a little {casa del abuelos} and visit it twice a month with my fiddle.  other then the ranch with the niños...  it's my happy spot!

my God is so insanely creative

and I am so in love with Him.

to think that he made the world for his footstool-

I wonder what his couch looks like.

from the huge gigantic ocean 

{that reminds me of the vastness of His love}

and mountains.

to the intricate details of insects

and sand dollars.

all the way down to the micro life

that we can’t even see.

the whole lot of it on His footstool?

yaaa…  I love His creativity.

thankfulness {day 5}

 

I am thankful for all my supporters…  couldn’t love on these babies without them.

when I made the decision to move to Mexico

I remember the feelings of vulnerability.

leaving my job to move to another country

for a year or more

and depending solely on support from my family and friends

was scary to say the least.

as I sent out my first support letter

I remember thinking

who should I send this to?

what are people going to think?

will they respond? 

I have now been living in Mexico for nine months.

the support and outflow of

prayers, encouraging words, and financial support

have been overwhelming. 

{that includes all my bloggy followers}

I love all your comments

they inspire me to keep writing

and speaking up for those who can’t speak for themselves.

thankfulness {day 4}

 

I am thankful for besos…

as I was talking to my slightly, epically, fantastic, seester grace on the phone tonight…  she pointed out a gigantic error in my last post.  I made my flight ten looong days later then it is suppose to be.  haha…  oops…  I did it just to keep people guessing.  NOT. 

December twelfth, my friends.  the twelfth of December is when this Midwestern girl is goin HOME.   

we talked of the things we are going to do when I get back and I can’t help but get a lil more excited with each conversation.

here’s a list of our plans thus far:

• go Christmas caroling
• cookie exchange
• sleepovers every night
• cuddling
• SHOPPING
• sledding
• help check trap line.  (they caught 2 bobcat this year already.)
• non stop talking
